Washing Instructions:
- For best results, hand wash after each use to maintain durability.
- Prefer machine washing? Use a gentle warm cycle (max 30ºC) with similar colours.
- Bonus points for placing them in a mesh laundry bag and selecting the hand-wash setting.
Drying Tips:
- Avoid wringing them out—give them a gentle squeeze to remove excess water.
- Air drying is ideal, but if you’re in a pinch, tumble dry on low heat (below 30ºC).
- Pro tip: As socks age, a short tumble-dry session can help shrink the elastic fibers and restore optimal compression.
- Never dry in direct sunlight or on heaters/radiators—this can damage the elastic fibers.
Detergents:
- Stick to mild detergents only.
- Avoid fabric softeners and never use bleach.
Compression Lifespan:
- Over time, elastic fibres naturally wear down. Replace your socks at least every 6 months to maintain proper compression and support.

I fly frequently for work and when I buy compression socks I always find that the ones that fit my feet and ankle properly are uncomfortable tight around my larger calves (42cm at widest). Previous ones I tried would either cut into my skin or roll down my legs. The Biosx Large Calf option fits comfortably across my entire leg — from ankle to under the knee — without digging in or creating that uncomfortable tight band feeling. The compression feels even and supportive rather than restrictive.
These socks feel firm but not scratchy, and they stay in place without constantly needing adjustment. I bought them specifically for long-haul flights, but honestly they’re comfortable enough that I’d wear them for long days on my feet too.
If you have larger calves and have struggled to find compression socks that actually fit properly, these are worth it.

My BIOSx Departures Flight Compression Socks - Pearl Grey are absolutely awesome! Best quality, I am very happy with them. I've put them on as a trial before my overseas planned trip and they are pleasant to have on, not cutting into my under knee muscles. Could not recommend them enough!
I normally hate using compression socks on flights and find I overheat with them and can’t wait to get them off. However that all changed when I recently flew from Australia to London with these socks! They are incredibly comfortable, they didn’t cut into the top of my calves, they are breathable, feel like socks I would wear normally and they didn’t make me overheat. I was so impressed with them I was messaging people on the flight to tell them to buy some - never did I think I would say that about compression socks!
I’m not big on review writing but more than happy to make an exception for the BIOSx compression socks. The purchasing process was quick and easy and a personalised note included with the delivery was a lovely touch.
The socks were a revelation on my Melbourne to Heathrow flight. No more fighting to put them on as I’d experienced with a well known chemist brand and the comfort level Is amazing. They stayed secure throughout, produced no skin irritation and were remarkably odour free after the 24 hour flight. and my legs were in great shape after arrival.

love the Pearl Grey colour. These socks run very small, I had to increase the size to extra large.
I usually wear size 7-10 but the foot is just big enough and the length to the knee is 25mm short.
Even the Extra Large size is tight around my calf at 46cm..
Love the quality and feel of these socks. I did have some trouble finding the right size—the larger calf styles don’t have a wider cuff, so they cut into my leg. That said, customer service was excellent and helped me choose the correct size. If you have larger calves, I highly recommend going with XL rather than Large, even if the size guide suggests otherwise.
I purchased for travel as I always were compression socks when travelling.
I have worn them around the house for a few hours to see how they felt. I must say my first impression is wow. You don’t feel like you are wearing them. so Ihaven’t yet worn on a long journey but I feel they will be amazing 🤩
